Hui Wang


Dr. Hui Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at Guanghua School of Management, Peking University; Deputy Director of the Peking University Economic Policy Research Institute; recipient of the inaugural “Sunrise–Guanghua Research Scholar” award at Guanghua; Ministry of Education “Young Changjiang Scholar”; and recognized as a “Beijing Excellent Young Teacher.” He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Toronto in 2010. His research interests include industrial organization, development economics, and applied econometrics. His academic work has been published in leading international journals such as the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, RAND Journal of Economics, International Economic Review, Journal of Population Economics, Journal of Comparative Economics, and Industrial Relations, as well as in prominent Chinese journals including Financial Research, China Economic Quarterly, and Economic Research Journal. His teaching honors include: the 2014 Peking University Zhengda Outstanding Teaching Award; the 2015 Peking University Teaching Excellence Award; the 2016 Li Yining Teaching Award; the 2020 Peking University Award for Excellence in Teaching; the 2021 Peking University Special Prize for Teaching Achievement and the Beijing Second Prize for Teaching Achievement; the 2023 Peking University ICBC Distinguished Scholar in Economics Teaching Award; and the 2023 Beijing Excellent Young Teacher Award.
