Elaine M. Liu

Elaine M. Liu is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Houston. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University in 2008. Professor Liu’s research lies at the intersection of the fields of development economics, labor economics, health economics and behavioral economics. Her research focuses on the applied microeconomic issues, and she has been involved in extensive household survey work and conducting field experiments in China. She is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and at the IZA (The Institute for the Study of Labor). She was awarded grants from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation (CCKF).
