Ji Li

Ji Li is Professor of Law at Rutgers University and a member of the Associate Faculty of the Division of Global Affairs. Professor Li teaches and writes in the fields of Chinese law and politics, international business transactions, tax, contracts, and empirical legal studies. His first book, The Clash of Capitalisms? Chinese Companies in the United States (Cambridge University Press, 2018), explores the adaptation of Chinese firms to US legal and regulatory institutions. In the 2018-2019 academic year he is in residence at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, where he will be completing a new book provisionally titled The Power Logic of Justice in China (under contract with Cambridge University Press). The book offers a unified theory for analyzing complex judicial behavior in China.
